Bead Soup Party

What’s for lunch? How about some Bead Soup?
I’m pretty excited to have signed up and be able to participate in my first ever Bead Soup Blog Party!
What is a Bead Soup Party, you may ask?
It is a once a year event hosted by Lori Anderson on her blog Pretty Things - where lucky participants get paired up with other jewellery designers (from all over the world) and each sends the other a package (a bead soup mix!) of beads, a clasp, a focal piece and perhaps some assorted other goodies. You then create one or more pieces of jewellery with those goodies, and can incorporate beads & findings from your own stash, bearing in mind that the focal piece and the clasp sent to you are requirements, and must be used. Isn’t that a perfect way to stir up your (possibly dormant!) creativity? (Especially since you may receive items that you would not normally work with).
It was announced on the weekend, that I have been paired up with a glass & metal artist from Kelowna, Canada – Fay Wolfenden of Fay Wolfenden Designs and you can check out her blog – here! I can’t wait to see what she will do with the pieces I’ve sent her. I’ll be sure to post a picture of what I sent (and what I receive, too!) once I know she’s received her package (have to keep it a secret until then, don’t cha know!). There will also definitely be photos of what becomes of it all as well!
