How to Throw a Proper Arm Party

written by Natalie Alcala

Arranging the perfect arm party is an art form, really. What exactly is an “arm party” you ask? It’s essentially an arm heavily-stacked with an assortment of covetable wrist accessories. Leandra Medine, the blogging sensation otherwise known as The Man Repeller, is quite the aficionado of said arm décor, as you can see here. Above is one of my recent arm parties which, I’m proud to report, went off without a hitch. Here’s how you can throw your own in four easy steps:

1. Decide on a theme. Are you feeling more bohemian than glam? More retro than futuristic? Do you want to stick to silver or gold, or are you a fan of the two-toned look? The possibilities are endless.

2. Invite guests. Once you’ve decided on a theme, plan your guest list accordingly. Although the list definitely varies, the standard VIPs are: 2-3 friendship bracelets, 1 watch (the bigger, the better), 1 bold bangle or cuff, and 4 wristlets (the blingier, the better).

3. Stack ‘em. When your guests have arrived, line them up in an orderly fashion. Although we encourage you to develop your own unique assemblage, here’s one effective stacking order: 2 friendship bracelets, 2 wristlets, 1 watch, 2 wristlets, 1 friendship bracelet, and 1 bangle or cuff.

4. Enjoy. And watch the compliments stack up.
