fashion forecast 2011/2012 – jewellery trends

While jewellery & accessories are one area of fashion that never really goes out of style, there are definitely certain trends that are “hipper” than others at any given moment.  The forecast for the winter 2011/2012 as showcased by British Vogue is for chokers.  Yes, those close fitting, ornamental neckbands are making a comeback!

According to Vogue … “CHOKERS are are set to become the must-have addition to your jewellery box for autumn/winter 2011-12. It’s been a while since our necks felt the familiar pressure of chokers but the time is right for their return and we predict that, before long, they’ll be adding a glamour injection to wardrobes at every time of day.”

Other hits for the season … according to trend analysis on the streets of Milan, as reported by Trendzine fashion information …

“Statement necklaces, which fill the collar area, dominate the jewellery scene in Milan and London. These short styles can be made up of twisted clusters of beads or chunky single chains with oversized pendants.
These magnified sizes are also trending for rings, which are chunky and feature cutout lettering or are set with large spherical stones. Leather cuffs with hardware or buckle style fastenings also make a bold statement. Smaller strappy bracelets and bangles are worn in groups, mixing colour and textures.
